Access and remote use#
New installations default to isolated access with explicitly registered workspaces. Host-root mode is Linux-only where supported by the matching launcher/runtime and intentionally exposes the host filesystem, including a writable host root to CLI processes.
It is not necessary for ordinary project work and is not automatically selected by a hardware profile. It can permit reading credentials and modifying operating-system files. Only use it as an explicit owner decision; do not recommend it as a generic permission repair.
Default loopback binding limits direct network access. Remote clients need a properly configured reachable address, TLS/access policy and firewall. Use release-specific configuration instructions. Do not invent --host flags or expose the instance broadly as a shortcut.
